This training program will provide foundational information regarding hypnosis and its use in a therapeutic context. The presenter will utilize lecture and experiential exercises to support the learning objectives and facilitate learning.

Upon completion participants will be able to:

• Define hypnosis and the signs of its presence; describe basic elements of its

  history, and list key ethical issues in the use of hypnosis.

• Identify the basic components of a hypnotic session, including structure. They will be able to discuss learning styles, a basic understanding of NLP, convincers, inductions and a variety of other basic hypnosis strategies and processes.

• Augment hypnotic languaging, mind/body connection, Identify and implement strategies of self-hypnosis for self and clients. In addition, participants will learn how to work with and identify resistance within hypnosis. They will also learn how to build and use guided imagery and visualization scripts in session.

• Use metaphor and storytelling in clinical hypnosis. Uses and strategies related to autogenic training will be identified, practiced and put into action. Participants will learn concepts related to contextual psychology in hypnosis.
